In my work I strive to target and engage all the senses equally. I cover my forms in an organized cacophony of textures and colors that are designed to lead the hands to move across the piece as much as the eye.
I am most currently inspired by spaces that are visually overloaded like roadsides in a city. Littered with road signs, billboards, and traffic lights these areas give me a sense-confusing experience of visual texture. Each sign and post adheres to its own system of organization; light posts are spaced evenly from each other but are placed uncentered on sidewalk tiles.
My work explores the relationship between senses. How can seeing be like feeling? How can feeling be like seeing?
