Welcome to East Mitchell Clay

East Mitchell Clay is a community ceramics studio in Humboldt, TN offering pottery classes to Jackson Tennessee and the surrounding area. We offer Weekly Classes (8 week session), Memberships, 1 Time classes (2 hours), Date Night, Ladies Night, Kid’s Classes and Team Building sessions for businesses or other groups. EMC is the educational wing of Companion Gallery, serving  Jackson & Humboldt, TN.

One Time Class

A one time Date Night/ Ladies Night Out. Four participants need to book a class. The class is 2 hours and you can choose the time. 5-7, 6-8, 7-9, or 8-10, depending on your dinner plans. Contact Lakyn Bowman at (309) 696-7457 to book your spot today. Yes, you can bring wine.

About the Studio

EMC is a 2,000 square foot ceramics studio in Humboldt, TN. Our studio has 21 Brent pottery wheels, 5 large electric kilns, a 15 cubic foot salt/soda kiln, Soldner clay mixer and Shimpo pugmill. Students have access to a  wide variety of tools, colored slips & over a dozen glazes.

Meet our Instructors

Eric Botbyl (@ericbotbyl) is a full time studio potter, living and working in Humboldt, TN. He has exhibited his work in numerous invitational & juried shows & received the Best Thrown & Altered Award in the 2016 Strictly Functional Pottery National. Andrew Clark (@andclark) is currently an Artist in Residence at Companion Gallery & East Mitchell Clay. He has exhibited his work widely and written articles for both Studio Potter & Pottery Making Illustrated.
