Taylor Robenalt
Taylor Robenalt is an artist and educator whose journey began at Southern
Methodist University, where she pursued her BFA in bronze casting and stone carving. Building on this foundation, she further honed her craft, earning her MFA in ceramics from the University of Georgia in May 2011, receiving a tuition full-scholarship.
Currently serving as a dedicated full-time professor at Ringling College of Art and Design, Taylor’s passion for teaching has also led her to share her expertise at institutions such as the State College of Florida, Auburn University, and Columbus State University as an adjunct professor.
Taylor’s artistic endeavors have taken her far and wide, including a residency at Odyssey Clayworks and participation in numerous national and international ceramic exhibitions. Notably, her contributions to the field have been recognized by NCECA, where she has been a panelist and exhibitor on multiple occasions. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as she has co-taught workshops at esteemed institutions like Penland School of Crafts and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, in addition to serving as a visiting artist at various Universities.
In recognition of her talent and dedication, Taylor’s was awarded the NCECA
International Residency Award in 2019, affording her the opportunity to study at A.I.R. Vallauris Residency in France. Subsequent accolades include the Halo Fellowship Award in 2020 and 2021, facilitating the installation of her first solo museum exhibition at the Canton Museum of Art and a month-long residency program called SkopArt Skopelos, Greece.
Taylor’s impact on the ceramic arts community extends to curation, as
demonstrated by her successful stewardship of two significant shows: one at Blue Spiral Gallery in Asheville, NC, and another at the Canton Museum of Art in Ohio, featuring a diverse array of over 70 animal-themed pieces. Additionally, she has showcased her work in numerous gallery group shows and served as a demonstrator for Standard Clay Company at NCECA.
In 2024, Taylor’s creative journey continues with a solo exhibition at the
Appalachian Center for Craft, taking center stage as the main presenter at the Alabama Clay Conference, curatored “Animal Attraction” at Florida CraftArt and attended a two-week residency at La Rex L’Atelier in the South of France. She ended the year with holiday shows and a workshop at Morean Workshop Space.
